Overview

This privacy policy applies to the Crottle app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Denys Samokhin (collectively, the “Application”). Denys Samokhin is referred to as the “Service Provider”.

Information collection and use

The Application may collect information when you download and use it, including:

  • Your device’s Internet Protocol address
  • The pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, and time spent on those pages
  • The time spent using the Application
  • Your mobile operating system

For a better experience, the Service Provider may ask you to provide personally identifiable information, including your name and email. This information is retained and used as described in this policy.

The Service Provider may use information you provide to send important information, required notices, and, where permitted by law, marketing communications.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The Application or its third-party SDKs may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, or service delivery. Where required by law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.

Third-party access

Aggregated, anonymized data may be periodically transmitted to external services to help the Service Provider improve the Application and its service. Information may be shared with third parties in the ways described in this policy.

The Application uses third-party services with their own privacy policies:

The Service Provider may disclose user-provided and automatically collected information:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
  • When disclosure is believed in good faith to be necessary to protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
  • To trusted service providers who work on the Service Provider’s behalf, have no independent use of the disclosed information, and agree to follow this policy

International data transfers

The Service Provider or its third-party service providers may transfer personal data outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
  • Adequacy decisions or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms
  • Your consent, where required and legally permitted

Data protection laws in other countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. The Service Provider will apply safeguards and obtain any consent required by law.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by the Service Provider. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact support@crottle.madebyds.com to exercise these rights.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, opt out of its sale or sharing, and receive non-discriminatory treatment when exercising these rights. Contact support@crottle.madebyds.com to make a request.

Opt-out rights

You can stop further collection from your mobile device by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling does not automatically delete information already transmitted to the Service Provider or third parties. To request deletion, withdraw consent, or exercise your rights, contact support@crottle.madebyds.com.

Data retention

Personal data is retained based on its necessity for the stated purposes:

  • User-provided data: for the duration of your use of the Application plus 12 months, unless longer retention is required by law
  • Automatically collected data: for up to 24 months from collection, unless longer retention is required for legal compliance
  • Aggregated and anonymized data: indefinitely, as it no longer identifies you
  • Legal compliance data: as long as required by applicable law

You may request deletion, subject to any legal obligation to retain the data. Some user-provided data may be required for the Application to function properly.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 16, or a higher age where required by law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market the Application to them.

Where parental or guardian consent is legally required, the Application is not intended for use without that consent. If the Service Provider discovers that a child provided personal information in violation of applicable law, it will be deleted. Parents or guardians can contact support@crottle.madebyds.com to request action.

Security

The Service Provider uses physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality of information it processes and maintains.

Data breach notification

If a data breach affects your personal data, the Service Provider will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including information about the breach and steps being taken to address it where required.

Changes to this policy

The Service Provider may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of material changes by posting an updated policy with an effective date. Where required, consent will be sought before material changes take effect. Previous versions are available upon request at support@crottle.madebyds.com.

Your consent

Where processing is based on consent, you provide consent by affirmatively opting in to the relevant feature or action. You may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing. Other lawful bases are used as described above.
